Taoism regards death as an inevitable part of the life process, and as an inevitable destination in life. Taoism emphasizes the impermanence of life and compares life to the flow of water, in which everything is in constant change and transformation from birth to death. Taoism advocates surpassing death in the process of life, and through the cultivation of the “Tao”, continuously evolving and refining one’s soul to reach the state of transcendence from life and death. In the face of death, Taoism emphasizes accepting it naturally and calmly, rather than in fear and despair, and believes that in the world after death, the soul will be freed and uplifted.
